Capstone Partners advised Gladstone Investment on its sale of Cambridge Sound Management to Biamp Systems
Capstone Partners, advised Gladstone Investment Corporation and Boston Harbor Capital on the sale of Cambridge Sound Management to Biamp Systems, a portfolio company of Highlander Partners.
The Capstone Team took the time to understand the Company’s niche product line and growth strategy, as well as identifying any potential transaction risks far in advance so we could plan for them. This resulted in an excellent outcome for all shareholders with a sale to a strategic buyer, along with seamless execution that met our timing objectives.
“This transaction is another example of how increasingly critical ‘the management of sound’ has become, whether the purpose is enhancing workplace productivity, hearing protection, personal health or listening pleasure. Technologies and products that control sound have become central to enabling broader trends across a breadth of man-made environments” said Ian Cookson, Managing Director at Capstone.
Headquartered in Waltham, MA, Cambridge Sound Management is the world’s largest provider of sound masking technology. Sound masking is a fast-growing market as it helps protect speech privacy, reduce noise distractions, and increase acoustical comfort in offices and other corporate settings.
As a result of the transaction, Gladstone realized a significant gain on its equity investment. Gladstone Investment Corporation is a publicly-traded business development company.
Biamp Systems is a leading provider of innovative, networked media systems that power the world’s most sophisticated audio/video installations.
Highlander Partners, L.P. is a private investment firm with approximately $2 billion of assets under management.
