David E. Burns

David is a Director in Capstone Partners’ Special Situations Investment Banking (SSIB) Group. He has over 20 years of advising companies, lenders, official committees, and other stakeholders in financial restructuring, distressed M&A, financing, and fairness opinion processes across a wide range of industries,

David joined Capstone from Imperial Capital, LLC, where, as a Director in the firm’s restructuring group, he advised a number of businesses on distressed M&A, lender groups on balance sheet restructurings,, special committees on fairness opinions, and a successor general partner in the wind-down of a zombie private equity fund..

Previously, David worked in the restructuring and special situations groups at Greenhill & Co., Merrill Lynch, and Houlihan Lokey, advising companies and other constituents on complex in- and out-of-court restructuring and distressed M&A transactions.

Before investment banking, David practiced law in the business reorganization group of a major international law firm.
