Capstone Partners Recognized for Advisory Excellence at 15th Annual Global and Americas M&A Atlas Awards
Boston, MA – Capstone Partners, a leading middle market investment banking firm, is proud to share its recognition at the Global M&A Network’s 15th Annual Global and Americas M&A Atlas Awards, held in New York, NY on January 30, 2024.
Capstone was honored to receive the following awards for three recent transactions: “Special Situations M&A Deal of the Year”, “M&A Deal of the Year”, and “Industrial Technology Deal of the Year.”
- Global Special Situations M&A Deal of the Year: Party City Holdings’ (“Party City”) sale of Granmark to Impulsora Euro S.A. de C.V.
Capstone Partners’ Special Situations Investment Banking (SSIB) group was honored to receive this award for their work advising Party City in the divestiture of Granmark, a leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of party supplies and packaging products based in Monterrey, Mexico. Party City originally acquired Granmark in 2017 to support expansion efforts in Mexico and Latin America. However, their strategic initiatives have since shifted, leading to Party City’s decision to divest Granmark.
“We are very proud to have been recognized with this award,” said Jamie Lisac, Head of SSIB and lead advisor on the transaction. “This was a complex transaction due to a number of factors, including Party City’s bankruptcy filing during the process and the cross-border aspect of the transaction, but SSIB excels under challenging circumstances, delivering unexpected value to our clients. We are very pleased we were able to deliver for Party City and its stakeholders.”
The deal team also included SSIB Director Justin O’Malley and Vice President Jacob Lee.
- Global M&A Deal of the Year: Telesis Technologies’ sale to Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems.
Capstone Partners’ Industrial Technology Group (ITG) advised a global leader of AI vision system-based laser and dot peen automation systems on its sale to Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems Co., Ltd. (HIES). HIES plans to implement Telesis’ proprietary AI and software technology across its own install base of inkjet printers, while further expanding its laser and dot peen marking product portfolio. Telesis was a portfolio company of Crimson Investments and Bertram Capital Management.
The deal team also included Managing Director Mike Schumacher and Vice Presidents Dominic Cervi and Scott Alvarez.
- Americas Industrial Technology Deal of the Year: Aldinger’s sale to Incline Equity Partners.
Capstone Partners’ Industrial Technology Group also advised a leading provider of calibration and repair services for test & measurement equipment on its sale to private equity firm Incline Equity Partners.
Peter Nam, Head of Capstone’s Industrial Technology Group and lead advisor on both transactions, commented, “Our team is pleased and honored to be recognized for the aforementioned M&A Atlas awards. These accolades represent our continued commitment to go above and beyond the call of duty to serve market leading, growth technology companies that have outstanding leaders at the helm.”
The deal team also included Vice President Dominic Cervi.
“We recognize the stellar achievements of best performing firms, deals, and dealmakers, who exemplify excellence for executing transactions, especially during this past year of trying times. We value their participation and wish them continued success for the year to follow,” commented Shanta Kumari, CEO and Global Group Editor at Global M&A Network.
